Time keeps on slippin, slippin, slippin . . .

Bonus points if you can tell me the next few lines of that phrase.

Anyway, my average mile-times are dropping below the 10-minute mark. I think I'm at 9:40. This isn't too bad, given that I only run two minutes out of every three. Anyway, I'm upping my running days to 3 in a row and then one day of non-running. The Warrior Dash I'm training for is coming up on the 10th of September, and while I don't think I'll be able to run the whole thing, I would like to finish it. So in the next day or two I'm going to tack on a third lap/mile to my jogging routine, and keep increasing the run time between my rest periods.

Today:
10 squats (need to do more of these)
20 pushups (mix of regular, wide, diamond, and dive-bombers)
20 crunches
20 side-crunches
15 leg-raises
2 mile jog-thing
10 minutes stretching

Rest Day means No Running

20 pushups
20 squats
30 crunches
45 minutes of yoga

By the way, I'm discovering that I've become so inflexible that it isn't even funny. I think I'm going to make flexibility as much of a priority as strength and stamina.

Saturday

What time is everyone available for a check-in skype?

Back on the horse

Alright, after getting derailed for a week (vacation, what can I say?), I'm going back to running in the morning.

Tomorrow: 2 miles, 1.5/1 running/walking intervals
Thursday: Assuming Wed. goes alright, will increase to 2/1 running/walking.
Friday: Not running, but still working out.
Saturday: Add a third lap/mile. Try to complete it.

Married Men are Sexy

Well, at least they (two of them) are trying to get there, one step at a time:

Pull-ups: 8-6-4 (ouch)

Ton's of other exercises that weren't as hard at the captain cook athletic club... That was boss.

500yds swim.

Pump-Up: The Reiteration

Sup Gentlemen,

First off, golf claps to Galen for getting this blog going.

Workout goals:

25 pull-ups, 60 push-ups, and 100 sit-ups.

So far I'm sucking hard, but coming up fast. Note that these are LAF-ups (legit as fuck) not sissy-ups. That means chin over the bar, no body movement for pull-ups, chin to the ground and complete extension and pause for push-ups, and head in the knees and all the way to the ground for sit-ups. So far I'm at 8 pull-ups, 29 push-ups and 33 sit-ups. Ouch.

Workout for the last two days in a row has been a Total Gym Series, followed by stretching. Considering moving to gym membership at Pete's gym, which is an awesome local place, member owned and run. Everyone there has three traits in common: Buff, committed, prefers pre-verbal communication... perfect.

I had to improvise the day before that, fortunately a large iron chair and some sand-bag Velcro weights were on hand. Now you understand, the pictures at the top. I had to make do with what as available. They were perfect for curling, approx. 35pounds once the sandbags were attached.

That's all for now

Zombie-bait

2-mile course completed four minutes faster than yesterday, which puts me at 18 minutes. I wanted to beat 20 minutes this week, and I've met that goal. I think that one more workout at 1.5/1 intervals ought to do it, then I'm switching up to 2/1 intervals. Once I've got that down, I'm adding a third loop/mile. Then I'm reducing time, then I'm adding pullups/burpees into the mix again.

Workout:
2-mile run, 18 minutes.

Tomorrow:
Rest day. Going to turn that into "No Running" day. Will stretch, work on pushups, situps, and squats.

Morning workout 2 days in a row? 0_0

Light Swim
60 Pushups
30 Crunches
80 Side Crunches (40 each side)

Slightly less suckage today. Pleased.

Thermostat Appreciation Day

Turns out that running in 80+ degrees doesn't do good things for me. I crapped out at 1.5 miles and had to walk most of the remaining mile. Still, I was only two minutes slower than the previous day...which is actually a lot on a two mile course. Also, I didn't stretch yesterday. Demerits.

"Workout":
20 Pushups
20 Squats
40 Crunches
2-mile jog, run 1.5 minutes, walk 1 minute, repeat (failure: 1.5 miles)

Fitness level: Facepalm.

Galen - Morning Workout

Light Swim
35 Pushups
50 Crunches

Pocketchange, I know but...that's all you get when you're a bum...
